Dragonflies and damselflies are ancient creatures which have been around for eons! Here in the UK there are 42 native species of dragonflies and damselflies which have specialised to a variety of habitats creating a widespread and diverse community. Here in the Colne Valley with so many watercourses and water bodies we are lucky to host a wide variety of these species, join us today to fly away with the subject.

As part of the Landscape Partnership scheme we can offer a free workshop exploring which dragonfly and damselfly species you can find in the Colne Valley, identification techniques and practical spotting them on a river corridors. This will be delivered by South East Rivers Trust with a morning theory zoom session followed by a practical site visit in the afternoon to search and identify different dragonflies and damselflies.

* This free workshop is only available for registered volunteers with Groundwork South and Colne Valley Regional Park.
