Thorney Country Park is a treasure of the Colne Valley. A 50 acre old mineral site, it combines woodland, grassland, and lake habitats. Suitable for all walking abilities with flat terrain. A few logs along the walk allow for great seated views of the lake.

Kingfishers have been seen at this site and the presence of a hide allows visitors to see them without scaring them off. Herons, Eurasion blackcaps, and Eurasian green woodpeckers have also been seen here. At all times of year you can see numerous waterfowl on the lake.
