Join us for a hands-on experience learning about aquatic life and how to protect it at the Riverfly Survey Taster event!

This exciting event is held in the beautiful Denham Country Park. Immerse yourself in nature as we explore the wonders of riverflies (invertebrates that live in the river) and their importance in monitoring water quality.

What to expect on the day

Meet us outside of the entrance to the Colne Valley Visitors Centre, where we will introduce you to the aquatic life we will be looking for and how to survey. We will then move to the river to carry out the survey, before heading back inside to look at what we have found!

During this in-person event, participants will learn how to conduct a Riverfly Survey and contribute to vital environmental research. We will guide you through the process, teaching you how to identify different species of aquatic life and assess their abundance, in line with work done by the Riverfly Partnership. This event will involve entering the river to help conduct a survey, waders will be provided so you will not be getting wet, but you must be able to swim to take part.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to scientific research, and get involved with citizen science. Book your spot now for the Riverfly Survey Taster event!
