The Colne Valley Regional Park
Thanks to funding from the Reese Jeffrey Road Fund, the Colne Valley Park Team have been able to improve access for road users and encourage them to explore beyond the roadside verge thanks to new interpretation boards.

On the 13th March we had another successful litter pick session, where we teamed up with the Canal and River Trust, Friends of the Colne Valley Park, Friends of the Slough Arm, Hillingdon Litter Pickers, and ACT Foundation UK. The effort and spirit was fantastic, and a great deal of litter was cleared.

On Wednesday, 22nd January, The Colne Valley Regional Park (CVRP) team and the Canal and River Trust organised a joint litter-picking and general tidy-up session by the canal on the edge of Denham Country Park heading towards New Denham/Uxbridge. On the day, we were joined by Lizzie from Buckinghamshire Country Parks, Tony Booker from ReAP, a volunteer team from Friends of the Colne Valley, and Nic from Hillingdon Litter Pickers.

An important public footpath link between Uxbridge and Denham Country Park has undergone major improvements in the last 4 years. This crucial link to the countryside had been neglected for decades, with overgrown and uneven footpaths that made it unwelcoming and difficult to pass…..
In October and November 2024, five pedestrian bridges will be replaced and approximately 1km of paths raised and resurfaced, subject to weather conditions…..
In June 2024 our Green Team went out to tackle Himalayan Balsam in Denham Country Park. This work is part of the ‘Improvement Works Project’ lead by Buckinghamshire Council. The green teams objectives is to improve the environment as well as help local people gain valuable skills and future job opportunities through programme called Green Skills.
An ambitious new project is being led by the Colne Valley with the aim to clear the River Colne running through Denham Country Park of the invasive species Floating Pennywort.
