Iver Tree Planting Volunteer Event

When

Wednesday 3 Dec 2025
10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Event Type

Volunteer for a one hour session to plant heritage trees to help an up and coming community green space!
This event is being organised by Iver Environment Centre on behalf of Bucks Council.

As part of the “Bucks Tree Mission” , Buckinghamshire Council is planting trees and establishing new woodlands to create a greener, cleaner future for everyone in Buckinghamshire. Register for this volunteering event to help reach their goal of planting over 500,000 trees by 2031.

Huntsmoor Park Wood in Iver is one of the areas that is being transformed with initial planting last winter, turning a grazing paddock into a new woodland. It has been designed as a community woodland for everyone to enjoy with an open area where seating will be established when the woodland is opened up for public use. Did you know that in the 19th and early 20th centuries, Buckinghamshire was famous for its orchards and soft fruit varieties, supplying fruit to the markets in London? As a nod to the past, a small orchard of heritage fruit trees will be planted during this volunteer event.

They will provide the tools, gloves and trees as well as tea, coffee and biscuits!
