Local events for the new year flowing through the valley

This is the year for many to get more outdoor active, to get closer to nature and to become a little greener! Here at the Colne Valley Regional Park we have lots of wonderful places, events and activities for you to explore. And here are a few options for the start of the year.

Black Park Forest School – “Tots go wild”. Black Park, Slough, Bucks. Back on the 10th January, where your toddler can get messy and creative with lots of activities, toast marshmallows, sing songs and lots more. Maple Lodge Nature Reserve. “Winter Wildfowl”, walk and talk Sunday the 2nd February at 10:00. Go along and find out which winter visitors are present on the reserve. http://www.maplelodge.org/ – events page for more detail

3. Small Changes at Iver Environment Centre – Wednesday 29th January 7-9pm. The evening will focus on the small changes we can make in our everyday life that could have a big impact on the environment. Tickets are £20 per person and can be booked by calling the Iver Environment Centre on 01895 270730 or emailing them at [email protected]

Simply Walk … your way to a better health in Iver Village – Saturday 18th January, meet at 2pm in the car park behind the Village Hall, Grange Way, SL0 9QA – All Welcome for a walk of around 90 minutes with tea and cake at a High St. Café afterwards. There are also group walks available in Denham, Black Park, Langley Park and The Chalfonts, visit the website fore more information and enjoy a great walk!  buckscc.gov.uk/simplywalk

Cheese Lover day hosted by the Coy Carp, Harefield. Join the Coy Carp for cheese lover day where they will be serving cheese dishes all day on their special menu and adding a cheese round to the quiz at 8pm! Weekly park run at Rickmansworth Aquadrome and Black Park, Slough – Free 5K run every Saturday at 09:00. Take time out for to improve your wellbeing and enjoy the scenery! To take part register on https://www.parkrun.org.uk/events/

Monthly Dog Walk with the Rose and Crown, Harefield on Sunday 12th January at 10am. Please confirm http://www.roseandcrownrickmansworth.co.uk/
