Have you seen an “space invader” in your river? Have you heard of non native invasive species ?

In the Colne Valley Regional Park we are under attack by “space invaders” that threaten to disrupt and damage our rivers and green spaces .

These invaders – Floating Pennywort, Himalayan Balsam, Giant Hogweed, and Japanese Knotweed – are non-native invasive species (NNIS) which can significantly impact plant biodiversity, human health, and economic interests.

Join us for a free online workshop exploring each species covering their identification techniques and impacts on the natural ecosystem. The workshop will be held online via Zoom and a link will be sent out prior to the workshop beginning.
