Come and join us at Staines Moor on guided walks and learn about the wildlife and nature around you!
Here in the Colne Valley we value the work that volunteers do to help maintain and improve areas of the Colne Valley Regional Park.
To celebrate volunteer week 2019 (1st of June to 7th June) we will be running a series of enjoyable and informative sessions that are open and free to attend. Sessions will include guided nature walks, river and air quality survey workshops and practical habitat conservation.
Detail: Search for birdlife including skylark, hobby and lapwing and flying insects like butterflies and dragonflies.
Who’s running the sessions: Groundwork South.
Number of spaces available: 20 per walk.
More details: This walk will last between 2 and 2 and a half hours and will take in the beautiful and unique landscape of Staines Moor SSSI (site of special scientific interest). We will hope to see a variety of birds, butterflies and dragonflies and people of all ages are welcome. Bird species we may encounter include Hobby, Kingfisher and Skylark. We will be walking a reasonable distance so please be aware of this and bring appropriate footwear/clothing.
We are also running a Wildlife and Guided Walks on the 03rd of June in Denham Country Park. Please see details in following link: https://www.colnevalleypark.org.uk/events/volunteer-week-wildlife-and-guided-walks/
