Some of the views in the Colne Valley Park that will be impacted by HS2
Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre (HOAC)
Provides water sports on a 45-acre lake and land-based activities for all ages. Used by sailing enthusiasts and schools from London, Bucks and further afield. It is run by a long-standing outdoor and environmental education charity, specializing in disadvantaged and disabled youth, with over 22,000 visitors each year. HS2 requires possession of the land from 2015. Even if temporarily re-located during the construction phase, the quality of the site and its fitness for purpose will be permanently lost.
Grand Union Canal (Hillingdon)
The Viaduct and diverted powerlines will cross the canal. Approximately 2km of the towpath will be stopped up during construction.
