Wednesday 13th August Nature Detectives: Crickets and Grasshoppers Workshop

Hop along to Denham Country Park with Bucks Country Parks and enter the fascinating world of these springy invertebrates.  Join the hunt as we try to find as varied selection of species as possible, and learn what makes them sing.  Meet at the visitor centre anytime between 2pm and 4pm.  Call 01753 511060 for details.  Children must be accompanied by an adult, £2 per family.

Sunday 17th August Orienteering Day

This is your chance to try out Langley Park's exciting and challenging orienteering course.  Come equipped to explore; short and long courses available, which can take a couple of hours to complete.  An ideal family event.  Maps and advice available from the Rangers in Langley Car Park, Billet Lane, Iver Heath, Iver between 10am and 12pm.  Children must be accompanied by an adult, £1.50 per map.

Sunday 17th August Iver Village Short Walk

Explore the village with Iver and District Countryside Association and have the optional chance to climb the church tower and enjoy a cream tea afterwards at St Peters Centre.  Meet at 1.30pm at Iver Village Hall Car Park, High Street.  Call Peggy Dabrowski 01753 655684. FREE

Wednesday 20th August Black Park Walk

An evening walk around the North end of the park with Hillingdon Natural History Society.  Bring an umbrella and stout footwear for muddy paths.  Meet at the lay-by at OS 176 TQ 009846.  Led by Alan Rix, Black Park, Black Park Road, Wexham.  For more information visit www.hillingdon-naturalhistorysociety.org.uk. Thursday 21st August The Nature Trail and Bridges of Denham Country Park

Join the Friends of the Colne Valley Park on this walk led by Janet Symes leaving from the visitor centre, Denham Country Park, Denham Court Drive at 10.30am.  Walk shall end around 12.30 - 1.00pm.  All Friends members will be entitled to a free cup of tea or coffee in the visitor centre cafe.  Call 01895 833375 to book this event, parking costs £2.
