At the Museum, historic buildings which would otherwise have been demolished, have been rescued and re-erected in a beautiful Chiltern landscape setting. The buildings reflect the traditional building heritage of the region, and illustrate the lives and work of local people. More than twenty five buildings including cottages, barns, stables, a chapel, toll house and blacksmith's forge have been rebuilt and furnished, and the collection grows each year. The museum occupies forty-five acres of beautiful parkland and woodland, with an attractive woodland nature trail, tea room, gift shop and childrens adventure playground. The Museum is also home to the Hawk and Owl Trust Nature Conservation and Education Centre.
