The Friends of Stocker’s Lake was established in 1990 to help conserve and enhance Stocker’s Lake in Rickmansworth as a nature reserve and to involve local people in the running and enjoyment of it. Stocker’s Lake was formerly a gravel pit and is one of the Colne Valley’s premier nature reserves. It is owned by Veolia Water and managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. Annual membership is only £3.00 and any money raised is used in management work on the reserve to improve the conservation value of the lake and to increase the enjoyment of visitors.
